By now, everyone living in Houston is sheltering in place at home. But that doesn't mean you can’t still enjoy your favorite local restaurants. Lots of Houston's best eateries have come up with pick-up menus, and meal kits, and are offering delivery. Bring the good food to your own Houston property. We've put together a short list to get you started. Throw yourself a hunker down the party and help keep the local hospitality industry going.
1. If you’ve never had Malaysian street food, get in order at
Phat Eatery right away. They’re offering to pick up orders from specially tailored menus. Lunch runs from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. Try the Phat special for $10. Your choice of curry laksa, curry vegetables noodle soup, or curry chicken noodle soup with roti canai--just what the doctor ordered! The dinner and weekend menu includes a 15% discount on all items. Try the One for Today, One for Tomorrow special. Choose between beef rendang and Malaysian curry chicken. One portion is in regular packaging, the other vacuum sealed. Both choices come with steamed rice and potato.
2. No one living in Houston should have to go long without a barbecue fix, which is why
The Pit Room has put together a special menu. The bulk to-go menu is perfect if you’re feeding a family or just want some comforting barbecue. Brisket, pulled pork, sausages, chicken, and pork ribs are all available in one or two-pound amounts. Included on the side are barbecue sauce, bread, pickles, onions, and jalapenos. For sides, order a quart or a gallon of charro beans, green beans, cole slaw, or potato salad. Get a gallon of lemonade or tea to round out the meal, and throw in a loaf of bread. Beer and wine are also available to go!
3. You might not be able to go to the bar and drink with friends, but that's no reason your fridge should be without ice-cold here.
Eureka Heights Brew Co is now offering its rate bruise to go in for a pack and six-packs. Options include mostly harmless, mini-boss, and a twisted cookie. Crowlers are also available. Be sure to follow their

4. Need a little sweet treat for a pick-me-up?
Sweet Paris Creperie has you covered. Try Nutella slathered in a warm crepe and add strawberries, bananas, or both. Apple cinnamon creme brulee crepes are even better than they sound. Kids and kids at heart will love Oreo cookies n’ cream. You can also get the breakfast and savory crepes to go. Just call the location nearest you to put in an order for pick up. Delivery is available via the Favor app.
This is just a small sampling of the many restaurants, cafes, and bars that are offering specials, to-go ordering, and curbside pick up. We’re in a tough time right now, but Houstonians have always come together to support one another, and that spirit is still shining.
